Welcome aboard Myrtle Marie!

Greetings everyone! Michael and I have had a very exciting month! Preparations for the trip have been occupying much of our time, but we have managed to squeeze some fun in. We went on my longest trip on the boat to date when we motor-sailed down to St. Helen's for a stay on Sand Island. We happened to come into town mere moments before two giant square riggers (Lady Washington and Hawaiian Chiefton) did, much to our delight! We were lucky enough to have the chance to go aboard and investigate these two beautiful boats, gawk at the amount of rigging, and talk to some of the sailors. They definitely made sailing our little boat look like a cakewalk! Last week we drove down to San Francisco for the wedding of a friend of mine from elementary school. We camped in the Redwoods, saw many friends, and I got to be a bridesmaid in the most beautifully charming wedding I've ever seen! FYI- Stern Grove in SF is an amazing place to have a wedding. Then, on Sunday, June 28th, we met our third and final crewmember for our adventure...Myrtle Marie! She is the cutest being with four paws I've ever met and she's seven weeks old! She loves the boat, and she didn't mind sailing with us yesterday, despite 20-25 knot winds! By the end of our sail she was curled up in the aft berth, sound asleep.
